Why the Haynesville Shale?
The Haynesville Shale, located in East Texas and Louisiana, is considered one of the largest natural gas fields in the United States with an estimated 75 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas. Production from this dry-gas formation has been on the rise since 2016 for several reasons. As improvements have been made in drilling and completion technologies, such as longer laterals and increased volumes of proppant, producers have experienced more cost-effective, improved wells results. Additionally, the play’s proximity to major demand centers in southern Louisiana and Texas allows producers to easily serve LNG and industrial markets along the Gulf Coast. Natural gas is one of the cleanest fossil fuels and a highly efficient and reliable form of energy.
